The stats already clarifies any iota of doubt that may exist in the minds of the doubting thomases who seem to believe otherwise.
Even though it is believed that CAF of recent have favoured the Francophone African nations/players and BBC because it is British have always nominated and thus awarded English speaking players.
However, the winner of this year's award hails from a francophone African Nation is coincidentally the 5th pure Francophone player to follow the likes of el-hadji Diouf, Didier Drogba, Christopher Katongo, Patrick Mboma etc.
Aside from Nigeria who has won the BBC African Footballer of the Year Award 5 times and Ghana 4 times, the loads of other players who have won this award do not hail from Anglophone African Countries.
It is however clear and glaring that Yaya Toure was and is a worthy winner of this prestigious Award!!
We are all set and ready for the GLO-CAF Awards Night which holds on the 9th of January To see if Yaya will add another laurel to himself and follow the path of players who have won both Awards the same Year! Will Yaya Toure make it a double?? Watch out for the "Etihad Machinery" called "Yaya Toure"
