The event commenced with the presentation of the
FIFA World coach for Women's Football is award to SILVIA NEID Coach of the German Women Football team. And she has this to say:
"It is an incredible feeling to win this award there are a lot of people who have been working with me behind the scenes. The team have been incredible the players, the backroom staff.
Without their contribution I wouldn't be standing here today. "I feel blessed to work with the talent that I have been given over this last 12 months. It is a great reward for me and a great reward for German Women's Football."
And then it was the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men's Football won by JUPP HEYNCKES the Bayern Munich boss who won 3 in his last year on duty at the Club, I will say well deserved.
And he said: "I'm tremendously thankful to be here to pick up this award today. It means a lot to pick up an award right at the end of my career. Normally in team sports it is often difficult to put
things together like this. It isn't just down to me this is down to the whole club, Bayern Munich, everybody that has been working with me during this period. "We have been blessed with world class players and they produced amazing performances. The coaching staff have also lent their weight. I want to thank everybody that has pulled together and helped me to produce this winning team.
"Maybe ten years ago, I wouldn't even have dreamt of this. I am humbled and happy to be standing here. Thank you very much."
Then the audience were treated to a video of Ballon d'Or candidate Lionel Messi who says he "studies the opposition" before every game. "I love what I do," he continues. "Each time I play, I play to win."
After which Representatives from Brazil's five World Cup wins take to the stage: Pele (1958, 1962 & 1970), Amarildo (1962), Bebeto (1994) and Cafu (2002).
They all had these to say:
CAFU
"The captain of Brazil has a special focus on him. When we won that World Cup in 2002 the preparation was meticulous."
AMARILDO
"We are looking forward to welcoming the whole footballing world to our country. It will be a very important moment for Brazil, with the whole world watching. It is going to be a fantastic event.
"I think there is going to be a lot of expectation but the players should appreciate playing in Brazil. Everything about this WOrld Cup is going to be fantastic. It will be a great memory for the players involved, they should play with all of their heart.
"Brazil is looking forward to hosting this event and the Brazil team is going to do all it can to make sure we win at this World Cup. I believe we have a chance to be there on the final day."
PELE
"I think each World Cup win means the same. My first World Cup win I was 17 years old, it was a dream for me.
"The most important for me was 1970, my last World Cup. I thought 'I could not retire with a loss', and we won."
Tokyo Sexwale and his Royal Highness, Prince Ali Bin Hussein took to the stage to present the FIFA Fair Play Award to the Afghanistan Football Federation.
And the Ibracadabra won the FIFA PUSKAS AWARD and said: "I am very proud to be here tonight and I'd like to congratulate all the other nominees. Good luck to the guys for the big award later. I want to thank all the people who voted."
PELE wins FIFA BALLON D'OR PRIX D'HONNEUR
FIFA PRESIDENT BLATTER ON PELE
"In the great sweep of history, there are few names that stand out. But when we think of football, there is one name that leaps out above all others.
"No player has had such an influence on the game. No one has inspired so many to play. His legacy speak to us all. His verve and skill were timeless. His creativity limitless, his good nature boundless."
An emotional Pele takes to the stage and is given the biggest round of applause of the evening, before the audience is treated to a video of his finest moments.

"I promised to my family that I would not cry but I am emotional. First of all I have to thank God for giving me the health to play so many years.
"Of course I did not play alone. When we talk about my friends people remember the players but we don't have to forget the guy who cleaned the shoes, the masseur - I had a lot of good people on my side. I have to share with them all this trophy.
"I got so many trophies and prizes but I was jealous because all of those guys who got the Ballon d'Or, which I couldn't get because I didn't play in Europe. Now I thank God that I can
complete my trophies at home."
And then NADINE ANGERER wins the FIFA WOMEN'S WORLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR"I have to say that I'm a little surprised, but very thankful. First of all I have to thank everybody that voted for me. I just want to pay my respects to Marta and Abby who have had an
incredible year too.
"You never get a success like this on your own. I have to thank my teammates and my goalkeeping coach who raised me to a level that I never thought I'd get to. Also I have to thank the people in my private life, I have a great family who have
been a great support to me over the years. My friends have also been very supportive to me. Thanks to everybody." NADINE ANGERER
As the the final award of the evening was about to be presented: The FIFA Ballon d'Or. The audience is treated to another video clip of the final three; Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery.
And the Winner is .............
CRISTIANO RONALDO is the winner of the FIFA
BALLON D'OR 2013.
And the emotional Cristiano Ronaldo takes to the stage with his son.
"First of all I have to say a great thanks to all of my team-mates with the club and the national team. Without all of their efforts this would not have been possible. I am very happy, it is very difficult to win this award.
"Everybody that has been involved with me on a personal level I have to thank. My wife, my friends, my son. It is a tremendously emotional moment. All I can say is thank you to everybody that has been involved." Cristiano Ronaldo.....
